The Winston-Salem Youth Flute Ensemble is directed by Peter and Lissie Shanahan, graduates of the North Carolina School of the Arts, Indiana University, and The Juilliard School. Students in grades 5-12 collaborate to put on an eclectic recital that includes music from Bach to Faure, Sousa to Mancini, and a Leroy Anderson piece that features a typewriter soloist!
